St. Johns was built in the 1700s by the Harbaugh family. There were three brothers that came over from Switzerland and settled what is now known as Harbaugh Valley in northern Frederick County. Goerge settled in Harbaugh Valley, Jacob and Samual had farms in what became Sabillasville. There is a cemetery at the church and there is a listing of those that are burred there. An interesting thing about the cemetery is that the graves of Jacobs farm were moved to the church cemetery and the graves on Samual's farm were willed to the church so with permission you can go to the farm and see the graves. All of the graves have been listed and will soon be avalible to be seen.
